Here is the 126th Annual Report of the Adelaide & Suburban Cricket Association.
SATURDAY COMPETITION
The AGM voted to continue the format of 7 two-day games and 7 one-day games as the Executive could organise it. Just before doing the program of matches in early September Flagstaff Hill withdrew their B grade they were hoping to bring back. When the Fixture was released, we had 76 teams placed in 7 sections of 8 with 10 teams in S7 and 8. Because of several clubs with multiple teams in the lower grades we couldn’t find 10 teams for S9.
WITHDRAWALS
Flagstaff Hill, that had lost S4 GF was promoted to S3. They told us they would find it difficult but we couldn’t replace them. At the October meeting Flagstaff said they didn’t have the players for a team. They had considered using lots of U16 players but not in S3. That left a bye in Section 3 for the season. South Road withdrew their second team a week before season start, leaving a bye in Section 8 with 9 teams. Sheidow Park V played R1 and 2 in Section 8 but after forfeited and withdrew for R7 when the program was redone for 8 teams with the 2 teams with byes playing each other. Cove III played Round 1, 2 and 4 but otherwise forfeited and withdrew for Round 8. There were in total 22 Forfeits and 27 Byes.
PLAYING DAYS
The season began on 12th October with 21 weeks of Minor Round Games and Two Weekends of Finals with the Grand Finals bringing the season to a close on 29th & 30th March. No days were completely lost to rain or heat. Round 14 the forecast maximum Friday night and Saturday morning was 39 degrees so we played but during the day the Adelaide temperature rose to 41.7 degrees. It was a particularly uncomfortable day playing cricket. It highlighted the plight of players observing Ramadan at the time.
FINALS
All finals were played out. John Zadow did an excellent job appointing an umpire to all semi-finals though 8 matches had only 1 umpire. Having only 9 Sections helped and 15 players not playing in finals agreed to umpire.

ASCA T20 COMPETITION
22 Teams played in the T20 Competition. 5 clubs put in a second team.
Division One had 6 Teams from Section 1 clubs and WYC from S2 that won Div 2 last season.
They played each other once before the top 2 played a Grand Final.
Division Two had 10 teams including the second team from Coromandel based on past results. They played 5 rounds in 2 pools of 5 before semi-finals between each pool’s top 2. The winners met in a Grand Final.
Division Three had 6 teams including 4 second teams and Morphett Vale and South Road. They played each other once before the top 2 played a Grand Final.
Games were played mostly on Tuesday evenings starting at 5.20pm with some Sunday Fixtures required to fit in all games. Just 2 games were rescheduled; one from rain and the other a potential forfeit. Michael Young did an outstanding job liaising with clubs. There were 3 forfeits.
John Zadow had support from his umpires and appointed umpires for all games, and often 2 letting the players just concentrate on playing.
The Three Grand Finals were played at the two ovals at Cove on Sunday 2nd March. We thank Cove for preparing the ovals and hosting the Grand Finals.
Division One saw Coromandel Ramblers defeat ICC Sharks to take home the Jack Voyzey Cup.
Division Two saw Port Noarlunga defeat Country Club to win the Peter Berkshire Cup.
Division Three saw Coromandel Ramblers (2) defeat Morphett Vale to take home the Michael Young Cup.
For the third year the Andrew Wright Medal was awarded to the most valuable player in T20 games. A formula counting runs, wickets and catches gave Joshua May of Mitchell Park in Division 2 the medal.
The T20 Competition provides a different type of cricket with extra games through the week for the enjoyment of players. A great way for the club to bond while watching their mates play an exciting game.
ASCA REPRESENTATIVE SIDES
Ray Thatcher organised 2 games.
A 40 over Under 21 game against Alexandra and Eastern Hills Cricket Association on Sunday January 12 at Callington.
A & EH batted first scoring 4/187. ASCA were all out for 172 with 2 balls to be bowled. Umpire: Malcolm Condon
A 40 over Senior game against Barossa & Light Cricket Association on Sunday February 9 on a good turf pitch at Gawler South.
B&L batted first to be all out for 178 with 4 overs remaining. ASCA were all out for 123 with 5 and a half overs
Remaining. Umpire: Matt Smith
Although ASCA lost both games it was an invaluable experience for the players against quality oppositions that regularly play on turf pitches.
Thanks to Ray Thatcher for organising all aspects of these games and David Billett who scored and Jack Voyzey who always makes sure he attends.
UMPIRES
John Zadow continued organising, appointing and supporting umpires. Clubs and Umpires were notified of appointments by email and they were published on Game Details page on Website. By logging into Website Captains or Secretaries could enter a Captain Report that included Ground Assessment, Spirit of Cricket points for opposition, Comments on conduct of match, Keeping and Fielding votes and an Umpire Assessment of appointed umpires. John would pass on and discuss Umpire assessments with Umpires so they could reflect on their performance. John conducted a meeting of umpires before delegate meetings where they discussed issues they had faced and sought common solutions.
Peter Williamson umpired his 250th game for Adelaide and Suburban, Trevor Lambert his 150th and Leon Dean his 50th.
Mostly there were 11 or 12 umpires available for each round of matches. Section 1 and 2 needed an umpire for each game leaving a few that could be sent where they might best make a difference. We can always use new umpires and it is important we attract younger umpires that will be with us into the future. John Zadow is always keen to talk with those thinking their playing days might be waning but can still stand in the middle of the field and make decisions. Our best umpires are ex-players with long experience.
ADMINISTRATION
Phil Davis – President, John Voyzey – Vice-President and acting Secretary, Michael Young – Vice-President, Bob Pearce – Vice-President, Nathan Jacobs – Treasurer. No one would accept the role of Secretary or Assistant Secretary. Jack Voyzey did the Minutes and the Executive communicated as best they could with clubs.
Also elected to Executive were John Zadow, Shaun Visser, Adam Rusk and Gerry McGinley, Caleb Rybalka, Jarrad Benson, Josh Paech, Raheel Raghib and Brad Williamson. These are all people who have played a lot of cricket and held responsible positions at their clubs. Just the people we need to lead the Association.
Adam Rusk, Bob Pearce, Caleb Rybalka, Jarrad Benson and Josh Paech have taken on checking the scores are entered on time on PlayHQ and reading Captain Reports. They have contacted clubs where there are issues and reported fines to the Treasurer. You can help these volunteers by playing games in a warm competitive manner and making sure teams and scores are entered on time. Nathan Jacobs the treasurer has enough to do paying and collecting payments for umpires. Don’t burden him with more.
Kwik Kopy Hilton continued as our printer. 140 copies of the Umpire Handbook, Premiership Certificates, Umpire milestones and Playing Life membership certificates were all produced on time in high quality.
REPORTS & TRIBUNALS
Out of 521 matches the Executive enquired into poor conduct at 11 of them. Most of the poor conduct followed players not accepting decisions and being so sure they are right that it justified abuse and continual heckling that wouldn’t allow either side to just enjoy playing cricket. Even after a tribunal decision several clubs couldn’t accept it and insisted all the fault was with the other team. One tribunal was reconvened with new members and it upheld the first decisions. 5-run penalties for behaviour are part of the laws of cricket but in matches without appointed umpires, captains need to cooperate in the conduct of the game. One match where their use was disputed and it was not clear they were appropriate the penalties were removed. The worry was that many teams could try to improve their score and that would only lead to more fractious dispute.
The Spirit of Cricket Points given in the other 510 matches showed how cricket can be played with teams respecting each other and accepting the ups and downs of a challenging activity.

2024/25 Club Report
Season 2024/25 has been yet another successful run for our club. Reaching semi-finals is something to celebrate—so huge thanks to every player and to our sponsor, People Choice, for making it possible. A special shout-out to our captain for always giving everyone a fair go and holding the team together through thick and thin, and to our vice-captain—stepping into new responsibilities and backing both captain and squad with unwavering support.
We’ve learned so much about running a club while performing week in, week out, and our system of rotating and dividing match-day responsibilities has been a game-changer—keeping things fair and light on everyone’s plate. For a fairly new club, the way we’ve gelled on the field—backing each other through every catch, chase, and slip-up—really shows what “team” is all about.
Big thanks to our committee for championing equal opportunity and a culture of respect, whether in formal meetings or quick off-ground chats, and for tackling any issues by consensus and fair voting. And hats off to our treasurer for managing funds so responsibly that we never missed a ball (or a celebration).
Our end-of-year bash was the perfect high note—laughter, memories, and plenty of promise for next time. Here’s to building on this momentum in 2025–26!
Thank you
Adelaide Falcons !!!

2024/25 Club Report
The 2024/2025 season was marked by significant success on the field for Adelaide Lutheran Cricket. I extend congratulations to all members for their contributions to this achievement.
Player numbers remained somewhat consistent with the previous season, with several valuable additions to the club. The commitment to maintaining strong membership is acknowledged and appreciated.
It is important to recognise the outstanding performances throughout the season, with particular acknowledgment of David Fitzsimmons who won the Section 9 Batting Trophy.
The club fielded 30 regular players this season, excluding fill-ins. While this figure is historically slightly lower than average, it reflects the exceptional commitment demonstrated by the playing group throughout the season. Adelaide Lutheran Cricket continues to prioritise recruitment, and the assistance of all members in attracting new players remains essential.
Strategic Achievements
I am pleased to report the club moved in a positive direction with our three strategic areas for the season:
Junior Cricket Program - A dedicated committee was established and organised. Significant behind-the-scenes work continues as this program is positioned for expansion and improvement.
Hard Wicket Pitches - These were constructed prior to the season and significantly enhanced the cricket program.
New Clubroom Facility - The club continues to work diligently on this project with determination. Positive developments suggest construction may commence within the next 12 months.
Future Direction
As we move toward the next season, continued focus on recruiting additional cricketers, developing skills, and building upon the successful social events of this season will strengthen the club's position.
Leadership Acknowledgments
I extend my appreciation to Captains Finley Borgas and Jim Wills for their tireless efforts in cultivating strong team cultures.
The contributions of committee members have been invaluable to the club's successful season:
Finley Borgas for his dedication to statistical record-keeping and general assistance
Josh Waldhuter for organising the quiz night and coordinating awards
Parth Gohil for his exceptional communications work
Daniel Grosser for his contributions as Secretary
Tarquin Kloeden for his excellent service as Treasurer
Additional key contributors include:
Yashmeet Sandhu for his energy and effectiveness in recruitment
Guarav Jagtap for coordinating the curry night
Mark Borgas for his work with facilities
Shane Munchenberg for his exceptional service behind the bar
I acknowledge the support of partners and families, recognising the importance of cricket for physical, mental, and social health.
Player Recognition
I express my gratitude to all players for their enthusiasm and genuine passion demonstrated throughout the season. The spirit of teamwork has been exemplary, with members proactively assisting without prompting. Adelaide Lutheran Cricket maintains a strong reputation throughout Adelaide due to the players' approach to cricket and their interactions with teammates and opposition. Continued representation of the club with pride and building upon its reputation as a respectful and friendly organisation remains vital.
Club Person of the Year
The Club Person of the Year is determined by committee members through a 3-2-1 voting system. This season saw seven individuals receive nominations, highlighting the significant number of members who have exceeded expectations in their service to the club. Nominees included:
Parth Gohil for outstanding communications work, enthusiasm for cricket, and consistent attendance at functions
Daniel Grosser for his significant role in implementing live scoring, ensuring smooth PlayHQ operations, and attending association meetings
Finley Borgas for his effective leadership as A Grade premiership captain and maintenance of statistics
Josh Waldhuter for organising an excellent quiz night and consistent willingness to assist
Tarquin Kloeden for his readiness to help with facilities, sponsorship, and financial management
Marko Fedojuk for supporting Jim Wills with the B Grade and contributions to junior cricket
Jim Wills for setting high standards in running the B Grade, unifying the team, and nearly securing a championship
The Club Person of the Year for 2024/2025 was awarded to Finley Borgas.
Looking Forward
I anticipate the 2025/2026 season with great enthusiasm. Building on the successes of this past season, there is significant potential for continued growth and achievement. I encourage all members to actively participate in recruitment efforts by inviting friends, family, and colleagues to join Adelaide Lutheran Cricket. The strength of our club lies in its community, and expanding this community remains a priority.
I extend my sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to making 2024/2025 a successful season and look forward to welcoming all returning members and new recruits to the field for another exciting year of cricket. The continued commitment of all involved will ensure Adelaide Lutheran Cricket maintains its position as a respected and welcoming sporting organisation within the Adelaide community.

2024/25 Club Report
The Afghan Cricket Club had a very good season last summer. We had a full team for each game and a well-balanced team. We played the Semifinals and unfortunately couldn’t make it to the final.
The establishment of the Afghan cricket club was based on the mandate of creating a platform in the form of a club where newcomers are welcomed to Adelaide and get them to integrate themselves into the community. In the last summer season as most of our players were those who were new to Australia, they had language barriers and had a hard time to adjust themselves to the new environment. For instance, on the day of the match some of them had appointments with Centrelink or with Ames office. Even some of them did not have their personal vehicle and were not able to find the address of the ground. Despite all these issues, boys had a wonderful season and enjoyed themselves. Often after the matches while we were having a bad day, we were all going together to a pizza restaurant and the Captain, Matin Stanikzai was insisting that we strengthen and continue our spirit and hard work to get to the final as we did.
In general, compared to other clubs in the tournament, we were a newly established club and had our shortcomings. But everyone put their hundred percent into doing something for the club. However, our club did very well in short formats. In the last T20 SACA tournament, we qualified for the finals and lost at the margin. However, in the longer formats of the game, throughout the season we had some individual performances that our two top scorers were Matin Stanikzai and MQ Lodin and the highest wicket taker was Rasheed.
Apart from cricket, by the end of the season, some of our players learned how to drive, knew how to get admission at university and even some were able to find work. Boys particularly newcomers appreciated the club efforts and pledged to start new season with more preparation and commitment. The Captain Matin Stanikzai and club’s president Mansoor Hashimi planned to have the club general meeting and discuss future events and plans. We will hold that soon and will share the report with ASCA.
Afghan Cricket Club is looking forward to the next season with more energy to entertain the community.

2024/25 Club Report
The 2024/25 season for the Coromandel Cricket Club was one to remember for all members of our club. We continued to enjoy the use of our new net facility, which has been a wonderful addition and allowed all players from all grades to train, as well as being a great addition for the broader community. Our social events were fantastically well attended, with our Quiz Night, Ladies Day and Cup Pong the highlights. We also held our inaugural 16 Days of Activism Round to raise awareness and take action to eliminate violence against women and girls. This was kindly supported by Catherine Huchesson MP (Member for Waite) and Katrine Hildyard MP (Minister for Sport, Recreation and Racing and Minister for Women and the Prevention of Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence).
We thank our members and committee for their ongoing shared commitment to make Coro a great place to make mates and play cricket. Our numbers were very strong throughout the year, with 85 players playing Seniors cricket at Coromandel.
On-field Senior results wise, it was a fantastic year for the club, with 4/5 sides playing finals, and the club taking home 2 premierships (Section 1 and Section 4):
A grade = Section 1 Premiers
B grade = 7th place
C grade = Section 4 Premiers
D grade = Semi finalists
E grade = Grand finalists
The highlight of the season was the A and C grades winning the Section 1 and 4 premierships. This was an awesome achievement to all involved and makes the hard work throughout the season all worth it. With the C grade winning the premiership, we now have our A, B and C grade in Sections 1, 2 and 3. We are very proud to have earned this position and look forward to the challenge that it will bring.
Our Junior program continues to have strong numbers, with 7 sides entered. The U16's and U14's played off in grand finals, which was a valuable experience for our young future stars. Juniors are the future of our club and we look forward to seeing them grow and progress in the future as Coromandel players. We saw incredible growth from junior players who took the step up including Ben Haslam, Lucas Mines, Christian Harrison, Hunter Lynch, Josh White and Charlie Stuchbery. We absolutely love seeing our junior numbers growing, and blooding youth into our senior ranks.
The continuation of youth coming through the ranks is key to the sustainable longevity of our club. This will be our focus for the future, along with harnessing the love for the game that our more established players have. We feel if we can do this, the club will continue to grow as it has in recent years and be a great environment to play cricket.
The season culminated in our Seniors presentation night at the Belair Hotel, where in addition to our statistical leaders, the following award winners were recognised:
2024/25 CCC Award winners:
CCC Most Valuable Player - Chris Norman
A Grade Player of the Year - Maneesh Khakurel
Keeping Award - Henry Beenham
T20 Player of the Year - Cam Lithgow
Jack Hewett Award - Darren Cheek
Junior Player of the Year - Ben Haslam
Clubman Award - Gareth Bruce & Will Lemmey

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the ASCA Executive for all of their tireless work they have put in throughout the season. We truly appreciate everything you do to allow us to play the game we love. Without your efforts, we don't get to play, so thank you.
We would also like to thank all of our sponsors, including our major sponsors Sphere Advisory, and platinum sponsors WasteAway SA, for their continuing support. We look forward to another enjoyable season of cricket with ASCA in 2025/26. See you all soon!
Coromandel Cricket Club Committee

2024/25 Club Report
I am delighted to extend my warmest.
Our season kicked off with Club Day, a great event that saw a tremendous turnout from both juniors and seniors for uniform orders, registrations, and a free BBQ. The enthusiasm and camaraderie displayed on this day set the tone for the season ahead.
As the preseason flew by, we found ourselves once again immersed in a new season of cricket with 8 junior and 4 senior teams proudly donning the Ramblers colours each weekend. This year, we were pleased to welcome another Under 12 team to our junior’s supported by our new “Play for Free” initiative, reducing costs for all to play cricket at our club.
We have been successful in securing the final funding for the changeroom and public facilities at Hawthorndene Oval and council should have the project out for tender in the coming weeks.
Our club's sponsorship department, under the leadership of Nick Work, continues to thrive. The Sponsorship Loyalty Program has been a resounding success, with over $880K now spent at club sponsors over the last four seasons. Please continue to support our sponsors during the off-season and record your purchase through the Get Chatty app. Your support not only keeps your dollars local but also enters you into a draw to win fantastic prizes from the club.
The maintenance of our facilities is a labour of love also by Nick. Spending countless hours line marking, Nick's commitment to providing top-notch facilities is commendable. He often takes time off from work to ensure our grounds are in optimal condition for both our junior and senior teams.
This year, our senior teams were positioned in Sections 1, 2, 5, and 8, providing us with the opportunity to compete at various levels. It was fantastic to see three of our four teams, A Grade, C Grade and D Grade, make the finals. Unfortunately, we saw the C & D’s bow out in the Semis, whilst the A Grade made a gallant effort in the grand final. Remarkably we secured two T20 Premierships in Division 1 & 3, a feat that has not been achieved by any other club before. On an individual level congratulations must go to our A Grade Captain Josh Rosman who has been awarded his 2nd Hewett Medal this season.
Our annual quiz night, held in February, was a tremendous success, thanks to the overwhelming support from senior players and friends. For the third consecutive season, we raised over $8500, supporting club operations & future major projects.
I extend my deepest thanks to the club's committee members, who dedicate tireless hours each week to ensure the smooth operation of our club both on and off the field. Our committee works as a fantastic team, working harder each year to improve our club for our members & also integrate closely with the community for long term success. We are always on the lookout for new members to bring fresh ideas and share the workload.
We are the first South Australian club to be awarded this honour, now recognised 3 times on the national stage for various awards in the last 4 years. Winning awards like this aren’t just luck, it’s the dedicated volunteers that ensure our club positions itself as a leader in the community.
A specific thank you must go to Helen Braithwaite our Junior Coordinator. I maintain Helen has the hardest job in the club. It’s a thankless role that requires many hours of work each week around her own full-time job, children and their commitments. Helen also is one of our Child Safe Officers so please pass on your thanks to her for making our juniors run so smoothly, with our largest ever participation numbers.
As we enter the off-season, I urge everyone to stay safe and enjoy a well-deserved break. I eagerly anticipate another fantastic season in 2025/26, our centenary season, filled with celebration, camaraderie, sportsmanship, and memorable moments on the cricket field.
Warm regards, Jarryd.

2024/25 Club Report
Thank you to everyone who has helped over the last season, from our committee members to many who have helped behind the scenes.
Captains have done an amazing job taking on the roles required.
Greatly appreciative of Terry and Faye as always for their time and effort behind the canteen and Clint for helping on the bar.
We had a stellar Season with the Juniors, the club had a huge successful Season and will be continuing to grow in the next season as we are looking to have 4 teams, introducing an under 14’s.
A big Thankyou to our Sponsors, as we all know, without our Sponsors on board we would really struggle to meet the financial requirements that are required to run the club.
Off Field we had some great fundraisers, Pink Stumps Day was a great success, we were able to donate $5k to the McGrath Foundation. Our Quiz night was also a great night so thanks to all those who were involved to get the night up and running.
Looking ahead, we believe we have some work to do in our Senior sides in recruiting players. And on that note a big thankyou to those who filled in so we could avoid forfeits.

We had about 12+ new players joining this season, is another achievement. There were lots of learnings and key take away from every game for our club and its players. We truly enjoyed our matches and had lots of fun playing with our teammates and the opponent team players. Most of the teams were friendly and played with us in the right spirit. Our players had shown lot of improvement, courage and sportsmanship and earned more experience and knowledge from this 4th season in ASCA. We are confident that we will play our best and perform well in the upcoming seasons. We take this opportunity to thank ASCA for their efforts in managing and conducting the cricket competition in a professional manner.

2024/25 Club Report
Season 24/25 for the Happy Valley Cricket Club in the Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association was a new challenge for all our players. After all three teams were promoted following last year's successful season, the club went on to field three teams in section two, four and eight. Two of these teams (S2 & S8) qualified for finals, and our section eight went on to be premiers for season 24/25. Alongside the Saturday competition we also fielded two sides in the T20 competition for division two and three. Both of these teams had lacklustre seasons with only two wins from the eight games that were played. Our club has consistently stuck with its players and this has led to great improvement in skill and comradery amongst our team which would have contributed to this season's success considering the pressures that were placed by going up divisions.
The club would like to recognise the individual achievements of the following players in season 24/25.

It’s important to note that our club is more than just those mentioned above, all 40 plus players who participated with us this year contributed, be it on field performances, coaching fellow teammates or volunteering in various jobs. The club is focused on improving its ability to compete and win across all grades to be able to consistently be at the top of the ladder. We aim to be a great club in the association and attract new and existing players with our strong brand, facilities and culture. Bring on Season 25/26 where we hope to put the front foot forward with a season that was better than the last.

2024/25 Club Report
The 2024/25 season has been another year of growth and resilience for Kenilworth Cricket Club. Both our Section 4 and Section 6 teams fought hard throughout the year, and while results didn’t always go our way, there is plenty to be proud of.
Our Section 6 side, after a strong campaign, fell just short in the lead-up to the Grand Final—coming off last year’s premiership win. The players showed commitment and determination all season, setting a strong platform for future success. Section 4’s season was disrupted by challenges with player availability, illness, and injuries. Despite these setbacks, the squad displayed great spirit and perseverance, battling through tough moments with a never-give-up attitude.
Special credit must go to our captains, Prabhat and Saqib, who did an outstanding job keeping their teams motivated and united. Their leadership—on and off the field—ensured players stayed engaged, committed, and continued to enjoy their cricket no matter the obstacles.
There were standout performances across the club, with David Denborough claiming 30 wickets and Hassan the silent destroyer scoring 739 runs—phenomenal achievements that highlight the depth of talent within the group. Beyond the stats, so many others contributed with bat, ball, gloves, and in the field, making it a true team effort.
Our end-of-season gathering was a fantastic celebration. A highlight was the video put together by David, featuring an interview with Johnny G, who shared stories of the club’s proud 100-year history—a reminder of the legacy we carry forward. A heartfelt thanks to the association for their tireless work, and to the KCC community who keep the club running, and to every player for the time, energy, and passion given to the season.
The results may not fully reflect the effort, but the bonds built, the experience gained, and the lessons learned will carry Kenilworth into a stronger 2025/26. We are a club that is rebuilding, regrouping, and re-energising—ready to come back bigger and better next season
Regards,
Amarish

2024/25 Club Report
This year, Keswick fielded 3 senior sides and 11 junior sides. A big thank you must go to Liz Mackay for her tireless work with the quiz night, to David Curyer for stepping into the presidency halfway through the year, and to Trevor Smith for bringing structure to training and being selected as captain at short notice on many occasions. Scott Curyer stepped into a new position created by the club and served as the chairperson for selection. While it wasn’t what he bargained for, he did a great job. Grant Murphy kept the books in order as Treasurer, and Paul Bradbrook must also be thanked for attending the Executive meetings.
The loss of our home ground made the season a challenge from the start, but luckily, we were able to secure Flagstaff Oval at the last minute and retain Seaview. It was a difficult beginning, even before the season officially started.
Ricki led the A grade from the front, winning another batting trophy. He had a magnificent year with the bat, scoring 444 runs to secure another well-deserved batting award. His recruitment of players did not go unnoticed, as through Ricki, the club welcomed five new players. One of them, Sahil Singh, made a big impact, winning A Grade Cricketer of the Year, showcasing enormous skill with both bat and ball. Sahil also won the Players’ Choice Award, claiming his first Zadow/Liebelt Trophy. Another recruit, Gary Dhindsa, tied with Russell Curyer for the Bowling Trophy with 24 wickets, while Rusty won the Fielding Award. Hopefully, they’ll all be wearing maroon next year. Keswick is grateful for Ricki’s contribution and leadership. As the first subcontinent player to captain our A grade, he has paved the way for others to follow. Ricki is a club legend, and we thank him for his two years as A grade captain.
The B’s and C’s were led by David Curyer and Wade Matthews. Both led well, but with many players unavailable, they often had to step up and play in higher grades to fill the gaps when others were unavailable. At 64 years old, David Curyer must now be the oldest Division One player at any club. Well done, Dave! Brad Williamson won the Batting Trophy with 310 runs before stepping up to A grade after scoring the only century of the year—102*. The veteran Greg Morris won the Bowling Trophy with 16 wickets, while Lian Wissing won the Fielding Award.
Shaun Hansen had another stellar year, winning both the Batting and Bowling awards in the C’s with 291 runs and 24 wickets, while also tying for the Fielding Award with Lian Wissing and Sadaqat Momand. Shaun capped off his year by winning the Player of the Year award, the JJ Hep Trophy. Caleb King was awarded the Brian Part Club Person of the Year, and Iqrar Momand won the Under 21 Player of the Year.
Jay Burton captained the T20 side to the semi-final in his first year. Steve McRae won the Bowling Award, with Harsh Joshi winning the Batting Award and T20 Player of the Year.
The juniors were a bright spot for the year and a beacon of what Keswick has to offer. Ross does a fantastic job year-round, ensuring the juniors are the envy of other clubs in Adelaide & Suburban. We fielded 11 teams and won the Under 16 T20 premiership, along with both the Under 16’s and Under 14’s premierships. The most pleasing aspect was seeing juniors progress to the senior teams, continuing to filter through the club. It’s great to see the juniors flourishing. Well done, Ross and the team. The spirit and camaraderie displayed by each team is an example for the seniors. Having had the chance to play with many of them this year, I can see they are all fine cricketers and men, and they will be the future of Keswick. It’s exciting to see them come through, and hopefully, they’ll replace us old fellas soon enough.
Congratulations to all who achieved milestone games and milestones for runs or wickets. It was great to see some club legends reaching new heights. Scott Curyer played his 250th game, Alan Doubleday reached 300 games, Trevor Smith played his 350th game and took 500 wickets, and Shaun Hansen reached 400 games, scoring 5,000 runs and breaking Kevin Anderson’s all-time wicket record with 827 wickets. This places Shaun in an exclusive group of only three players in the 5,000 runs / 500 wickets club. What a great year! Well done, Shaun.
We had 62 senior players this year, spread across only three sides.
On a sombre note, the club was left reeling by the sudden passing of James McIntyre, who was only 39. He struggled with his demons, but he and his father, Jimmy, were beloved figures at our club. The loss is heartbreaking, and I offer my sincere condolences to Jim and Lesley.

2024/25 Club Report
Mitchell Park had 5 senior sides competing in the Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association for the 2024-25 season, in Sections 2, 5, 6, 8 and 9. In addition we had 2 sides in the T20 competition, plus under 10 and under 16 boys in the junior competitions.
A Grade were co-captained by Josh Aulert and Josh May, finishing 2nd after the minor round with 10 wins. They won their semi final against Happy Valley but went down in a hard-fought grand final to Morphettville Park. It was a much improved effort from the season before, with a lot of young talent showing great development. Josh Aulert and Josh May tied with 540 runs apiece for the season, Josh Aulert with 540 @ 41.54 with one century (123 vs Western Youth) and 1 fifty, Josh May with 540 @ 38.57 with 3 fifties. Jordan Dienelt and Bradley Lewis also scored over 300 runs for the season. Josh May also led the bowling for Section 2 with 32 wickets @ 17.97 with 1 5/for (5/39 vs Coromandel Ramblers), Matthew Aylmore took 29 @ 15.72 and Bradley Lewis took 26 @ 13.62 with 1 5/for (5/29 vs Western Youth.)
B Grade had another season with lots of player movement up and down, but with Nick Szepessy leading as captain there was more success than the previous season, sneaking into 4th with 7 wins. After upsetting top side Kenilworth in the semi final – who had lost only one game to that point – they lost to a very strong Adelaide Lutheran side in the grand final. Contributions came across the board at different stages through the season, Raman Singh leading the runs finishing with 459 @ 30.60 with 1 century (104 vs Sheidow Park) and 2 fifties; next was Shaun Hollis scoring 379 @ 42.11 with 4 fifties, and Tim Harris with 351 @ 27.00 with 2 fifties. Wickets were evenly shared across the attack; James Domergue leading with 23 @ 16.26 followed by Tim Harris with 19 @ 13.42 with 1 5/for (6/55 vs Plympton Footballers). 4 others took more than 10 wickets showing the strong team aspect of the season.
C Grade were captained by PJ Scott and Todd May, just missing the finals in 5th position with 7 wins for the season. 35 different players were used across the season, the highest scoring being Anthony Farrugia, 3rd in the section with 526 runs @ 65.75 with 2 hundreds (121* vs Coromandel, 104* vs Morphettville Park) and 2 fifties, and Lucas Groves with 224 @ 24.89. Todd May took the most wickets with 24 @ 16.63 with 1 5/for (6/38 vs Morphettville Park), Paul O’Loughlin with 13 @ 20.38 with 1 5/for (5/35 vs Coromandel Ramblers), and James Zoldi with 13 @22.77.
D Grade was again captained by Albert Kurien-Sony, finishing 8th with 4 wins in a very competitive grade. Several players stepped up to play higher grades this year leaving a lot of changes week-to-week. Matthew Joy was a mainstay most weeks, finishing with 515 runs @ 39.62 with 1 century (106* vs Coromandel Ramblers) and 3 fifties. Matthew also led the wickets, finishing with 22 @ 11.91 and 1 5/for (6/24 vs Morphettville Park); Albert Kurien-Sony next highest with 16 @ 19.13.
E Grade was skippered by Brett Lithgow, struggling in the 2nd half of the season with player availability forfeiting a few games. They finished with 1 win but blooded many junior players to move the development of the club forward. Several father son combinations played throughout the season. Adam Basedow scored the most runs with 134 @ 26.80 with 1 fifty; Andrew Basedow next with 127 @ 11.55. Andrew Basedow took the most wickets with 9 @ 26.44.
The A Grade T20 side made the semi final against Country Club, losing in a super over. Josh May scored 2 fifties in the competition in his 149 runs @ 49.67, and Maverick Abbott was the leading wicket taker in the competition with 13 @ 8.00.
The B Grade T20 side just missed out on the semis by 1 win in a very even competition. Anthony Farrugia leading with 110 runs @ 110.00 with 1 fifty; Kyle Hanegraaf with the most wickets taking 9 @ 9.78.
Bradley Lewis did an amazing job coaching the under 16s team, getting several wins and being competitive in almost every game. It was difficult some weeks chasing players to field a team and Bradley should be commended for his efforts throughout the season.
The under 10s team joined in the 2nd half of the season, after picking up several new players to the area following the Woolworths Cricket Blast. Connor Sampson and Ryan Doherty worked together on the managing and coaching roles which is always a difficult task with so many young kids running around so they should be commended.
We also had several Association award winners – Josh May won the Section 2 Association Zadow Medal and the T20 Andrew Wright Medal for player of the year; Raman Singh won the Section 5 wicketkeeper of the year; James Patterson won the Section 3 fielding trophy; Matthew Joy equal winner of the Section 8 bowling trophy; A Grade Section 2 and D Grade Section 8 sides winning the Spirit of Cricket Champion awards.
A great crowd attended the MPCC end of season awards night, with Josh May winning the Allan Sutherland trophy for player of the year, the Darryl Reynolds all rounder trophy and the T20 player of the year; Raman Singh won the Max Thomas wicket keeper of the year; Lachlan May won the U/21 cricketer of the year; James Patterson won the Mark Sansome fielding trophy, and Anthony Farrugia won the Berky Round best player of the round.
Sincere thanks must go to club president Peter Scott, secretary Robert Pearce, treasurers Todd May and Brad Richardson, and the entire committee for putting in so much time and effort behind the scenes running the club. We aim to continue that success moving into season 2025/26.

2024/25 Club Report
Morphett Vale Cricket Club had a successful 2024/25 season with Section 8 making a semi final, Division 3 T20 Runners Up and finally, Section 6 Minor Premiers and Premiers overall.
In season 2024/25, Morphett Vale entered 2 sides competing in sections 6 and 8. Thankfully the days of struggling to fill the 2nd side were gone as we had a steady influx of new and returning players. Our section 8 side fought all season in a 5-team fight for the final 4 positions with the 4th/5th positions coming down to the final minor round game requiring a minimum 80+ run victory to which we succeeded therefore confirming our spot in the semi finals at the unfortunate expense of reining premiers, Warradale. Unfortunately our finals campaign ended with a semi final loss in the 2nd last over to Coromandel. The A grade side, however, were dominant all season only losing 3 matches on their way to a minor premiership. Some superb day 2 semi final batting performances from Dwayne and Junky ensured a home grand final was earned, where Dwayne bowled his way to a 6/29 and decent batting from Nick, Jeremy and Jay leading the side to the first premiership since 2018/19.
It was amazing to see the rapid improvement in some younger players such as Joel and Ollie both in their 1st seasons of senior cricket at 16- and 15-years old respectively. Hopefully the guys can have a long and successful future at the club with many A grade games to come.
Morphett Vale also wish to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the volunteers from the Friday Crew who regularly tend to the cricket nets, mark out the lines and maintain the ground ready for home matches at Morphett Vale Oval. The club wouldn’t be able to run on game day without the efforts of the Crew.
Notable milestones from season 2024/25 include 144* by Fred De Lange, 93 by Jeremy Oldfield, Dwayne Morrison winning the Section 6 fielding trophy and Luke Potter with the keeping trophy.
Morphett Vale are looking forward to a promising 2025/26 season with an eye on growing in numbers and continued success.

2024/25 Club Report
2024-25 saw Morphettville Park build on the foundations laid during previous seasons. Starting with our strong committee successfully taking over the running of the club during the cricket season, entering a sixth side, and culminating in two premierships: Under-15 girls and Section 2. While all sides represented the club well, the only other side to make finals was F-grade who finished fourth. The Bs finished 6th the Cs and Ds 8th and the Es 7th. Fielding six sides each match was a stretch that required 120 players, several of whom were juniors. Despite the struggle getting players we never forfeited. Several youngsters brought along their fathers and a few sisters to fill vacancies. Trent English continued to coordinate training. Our emphasis on sportsmanship and playing enjoyable cricket was highlighted by winning ASCA’s Spirit of Cricket awards in Sections 6 and 9.
After nine finals series and three grand final losses our A-grade broke through, confirming themselves to be the best side in Section 2 by winning finals against the second and third placed teams in convincing fashion: rolling WYC for 41 in the semi-final, then beating Mitchell Park to whom they lost both minor round games, to win the grand final by six wickets in front of an excited home crowd. Our 14th A-grade premiership and first since 2008-9. A highlight of their season was the influx of younger players who added quality to the team and will enjoy the challenge of Section 1 next season.
Captain and opening bat Dan Voyzey won his fifth consecutive batting trophy with the club best of 629 runs, including a century. Dan also won ASCA’s Section 2 batting trophy. Returning from parental leave Matt Taylor continued where he left off producing 434 runs. Star of the grand final, Max Amos-Treloar, totalled 427 stylish runs. Wicket-keeper/opener Don Caruso scored 360 plus 17 catches to also win the wicket-keeping award. Scott Paterson a lynch pin of the A-grade for over a decade scored 282 runs, fittingly batting when the grand final’s winning run was scored. Angus Tayleur produced 215 middle-order runs, while allrounder Mat Wolfenden made 118 and. Michael Smith 110 completed a strong batting line-up. The best partnership was 168 by Caruso and Voyzey for the first wicket.
Quadruple bowling trophy winner Aaron Fishwick’s season ending 14 balls into it presented a problem. Three bowlers stood up. Kyle Mitchell assisted Mat Wolfenden in opening the bowling, while Jordan Ritter got more overs of spin. Kyle took 23 wickets, Jordan and Mat 22 each. When these three rested, new allrounder Michael Smith took 17 including a blistering season’s best of 5/14 in the semi-final. Spinner Dan Voyzey collected 14 and newcomer Curtis Groves took 10. Smith shone in the field to easily win that trophy.
Our Bs went from finalists last season to winning just three matches from twelve games. They scored just seven fifties and had the lowest run aggregate in Section 3. Captain Kev Brokensha scored 237 runs with two fifties, plus the side’s high of 59 and won the batting trophy for the third consecutive season. Wes Trebilcock showed good improvement scoring 195 runs, while wicket-keeper Daniel Monro made 180 and took 9 catches. One run behind was re-born opener Baharat Roocke. Mark Voyzey 145 runs, Jordan Porter 125 and Luke Debrowski 102 gave useful support. Kev and Wes shared the best partnerships of 87 for the fifth wicket.
Swing bowler Dean Ratcliff led the bowling with 17 wickets that included a five-wicket haul and claimed his first trophy. Trebilcock also did well with the ball getting 15 wickets including the club’s season best of 7/23. Medium pacers Aiden Walsh and Will Lamb both took 12 wickets and gave reliable support. From just half a season Sam Tucker won the fielding award.
39 players played C-grade which did not assist with stability and highlights a reason for their poor season: our 17th wooden spoon. Another captain to show the way was Caleb Rybalka who won his third C-grade batting trophy with 372 runs including the side’s best of 108, his third century. Daniel Monro scored 185 before promotion. While Anosh Vakeel made 167. Ross Brokensha 142 and Abhi Joshi 138 scored useful runs with both taking seven catches. Kane Landorf with 125 runs and Chris Lange 122 added useful runs from part seasons. Monro and Alan Elbourn shared the best partnership of 87 for the second wicket.
Spinner Ben Webb topped the C-grade bowling with 17 wickets that included a five-wicket haul. Kane Landorf recovering from injury took 10 as did Jacob Fishwick. Will Lamb from only one game took the only other five-wicket haul of 5/23. Prashant Sharma, Dylan Conroy and Joshi added support to an attack that took only 92 wickets.
Our D-grade player turnover was higher using 50 players with just seven playing at least half the season. One consequence was that there was not enough depth to convert good efforts into wins. Considering those circumstances, finishing eighth of ten sides was a creditable effort. Chris Spehr’s 421 runs at 70 with four fifties and the season high of 99 won his sixth D-grade batting trophy and eleventh in all (2A, 1C, 6D, 2E). Captain Ben Porter’s good season saw him accumulate 380 runs with three fifties. From a handful of appearances Travis Hebbard scored 272 runs with a club best of 147. Jagit Ghotra 177 and Mike Warland 139 added middle-order runs with senior players Peter Roach 133 and Brenton Crosby 104 also contributing. Dylan Conroy won the fielding trophy. Spehr and Hebbard shared the best partnership with 195 for the third wicket; a new D-grade record and one run short of equalling the grade record.
With 19 wickets always reliable medium pacer Brenton Crosby won his fifth bowling trophy and seventh in all (5C, 2D). Spinner Jason Crisp took 11 wickets which combined with his wickets in other grades won him the club bowling trophy. Jagit 10 and Patrick Roach 7 gave support. Those four took more than half of the D-grade’s wickets. Ben Porter grabbed 11 catches plus a stumping to win his fifth ASCA wicket-keeping trophy.
Damien Tucker’s E-grade also had a high player turnover recording three wins from their twelve games, two of which were against the eventual premier and another finalist. Allrounders led the way with Mike Warland easily winning the batting with 258 runs, two fifties and 14 wickets, from Hamish Laidlaw’s 135 runs, one fifty and 9 wickets. Wicket-keeper Luke Dubois scored 122 plus four wickets with the ball and took 14 catches to also win ASCA’s Section 8 wicket-keeping trophy for the second consecutive season. Chris von der Borch totalled 116 runs and his medium pacers secured the bowling trophy with 20 wickets. Some family rivalry existed here with son Jordan coming third with 13 wickets that included the season’s best of 6/23. Liam Tucker took eight catches to win ASCA’s fielding trophy. The best partnership of 104 for the seventh wicket was shared by Luke Dubois and Liam Tucker and is second highest for E-grade.
Losing an away semi-final ended what was a good season for Andrew Jones’ F-grade. Last team selected for each match, also suffering unsettled playing clientele, they deserved their taste of finals cricket. Opening bat Kym Woodward was the backbone of many innings scoring 457 runs that included two centuries, the better being 146. Jones scored 188 and James Limberis showed promise with 142. All-rounder Brett Bryson made 104 with support coming from Sam Witter-Smith 84, Jess Keon 74 and wicket-keeper Steph Daskalos who made 72 runs, took 15 catches to win ASCA’s Section 9 wicket-keeping award. Bryson’s medium pacers tied for the ASCA bowling trophy with 21 wickets. 13 wickets each were taken by spinners Jason Crisp (from three matches) and Woodward. Jesse Pannenburg took 9 that included a five-wicket haul. The best bowling figures of 5/15 were shared by Crisp and one-gamer Adam Wilkinson. Riley Wood won ASCA’s fielding trophy. Two new F-grade batting partnership records were created this season. Woodward and Keon 147 for the fourth wicket and 110* by Dash Sylva-Richardson and Ross Brokensha for the seventh wicket.
Morphettville Park again fielded a Division 2 side in ASCA’s T20 competition. They had one win and a close loss from their four matches. Best with the bat were Alan Elbourn, Mat Wolfenden and Kane Landorf. In the bowling Wes Trebilcock took the most wickets while Wolfenden, who took a hat-trick against Plympton Footballers was our T20 Player of the Season.

The early season quiz night was a success with the club’s Intelligence Quotient still below expectations. Again, the breast cancer research and assistance fundraising T20 match between Morphettville Park and Belair Old Boys was a great success. Reminiscing, drinking, and fund raising surpassed last year’s. Several young sons made guest appearances at the crease.
This season both Morphettville Park and Western Youth Centre A-grades were in Section 2 and for only the second time Morphettville Park won the David Lee Cup, the other win was in 2015-16. During the season we lost Glenn Threadgold 520 whose friends remembered him with drinks at the Marion Hotel.
Our Hall of Fame increased by two. Both were predominantly A-grade players, but from different eras. who strongly supported the club on and off the field. Opening batsman Graham, Tuohy 1959-95 (327 games, 11162 runs) and allrounder Bharat Roocke 2001-25 (286 games, 4164 runs, 477 wickets).
Kev Brokensha received Life Membership for his many years of service at committee level and on the field.
Over 80 junior players in eight sides played junior cricket for Morphettville Park. Our Under-15 girls, led by Ivy Hobbs, won successive premierships. As the season continued all sides’ form improved and despite the mishaps that all cricketers suffer, enjoyment was high. Our two under-10 sides were coached by Nick Wiese and Mark Voyzey, who was also junior coordinator; under-12s by Jacob Fishwick and Dean Ratcliff; under-14s by Jason Crisp and under-16s by Chris Spehr. With Peter Roach running a girls under-10 team. The Roos Squad continued playing another season of enjoyable games of cricket.
At committee level, Ben Porter and Sandra Brokensha continued as President and Secretary, with Dean Ratcliff succeeding Mark Voyzey as Treasurer after his six-season term. A major concern was how to successfully run the bar during the cricket season. With all committee members filling roles it proved successful financially, although a difficult task. Next season should be easier. SMS and social media together with on-line scoring conveyed match scores and news to club members. Financial help came from our sponsors: Commercial Finance Australia; Cowan Restoration Services; Bayside Bakery; Flash Security Doors and Screens; Newmarket Ingredients; Geoff George - VIP Lawns and Gardens; Direct Couriers; Southern Cross Meats; Fish n Chicks. An association high was reached by the quality and quantity of Bayside Bakery’s afternoon teas that were extremely well received by both teams and umpires, plus spectators who demolished any left overs. Sheila Paterson ensured all was ready even if Tea was taken early.
Morphettville Park’s accent on youth was highlighted by having eight under-25s in our winning grand final twelve. Many others are spread throughout the grades. Section One will be a challenge, but we are better prepared for it now than any time since we left in 2015-16. What should happen in 2025-26 are some lower grade flags. Morphettville Park is a powerhouse in ASCA. We are: back in Section 1; the only club to field six sides; have excellent facilities; our junior structure is producing future and current players; have a strong committee with sound administration; financially sound; a family club that enjoys playing cricket and socialising. A multi -premiership season in 2025-26 is a goal that should be very achievable.

2024/25 Club Report
The 2024/25 season was a season of growth and determination for the North Haven Cricket Club. We proudly fielded 76 senior players in the Adelaide & Suburban Cricket Association and saw over 100 registered junior players across five competitions.
This year, we were delighted to induct Aiden Hinsley and Cody Hoffrichter as Life Members, recognizing their significant contributions. Excitingly, a brand-new pitch is currently being installed on the 2nd oval at Ray Guscott Reserve.
Senior Cricket Highlights
Our senior teams delivered a mixed bag of results:
• A Grade: Finished 7th in Section 1 (4 wins, 10 losses). We successfully consolidated our position in Section 1 after gaining promotion last season. This was a priority for us as too often we, as well as other clubs, reach Section 1 only to go back down the next season.
• B Grade: Finished 5th in Section 4 (7 wins, 7 losses). An up and down year for our B Grade and we narrowly missed finals contention by just one win. Undefeated at home, we just couldn't find that elusive away win when it was needed.
• C Grade: A standout season, finishing 2nd in Section 7 and reaching the Grand Final. Though they lost a nail-biter, this marks their third finals appearance in three years, including one Premiership.
• D Grade: Finished 5th in Section 9 (7 wins, 6 losses). The "4th Eleven" as they like to be called narrowly missed out on finals contention by quotient only. The most disappointing part was that they couldn't play the last 5 weeks of the season due to two forfeits and a bye (due to a club dropping out).
Individual Milestones & Award Winners
Congratulations to our players who achieved significant milestones:
• Paul Wilson: 500 club wickets.
• Jason Macaitis: 200 club games.
• Ryan Egan: 7500 club runs.
• Adam Hocking: 7000 club runs.
Our award winners for the season were:
• Boyce Award: Matthew Avery
• John Engelhardt Medal (A Grade): Josh Rosenthal
• Tony Fromene Medal (B Grade): Damien Lennard
• Alex Lewis Medal (C Grade): Mark Cappelluti
• Doug Fleming Medal (D Grade): Baily Cannon
• Ray Guscott Medal (Best U23): Zachary Holdsworth
Our sincere thanks go to President Bradley Brame, Vice-President Jason Macaitis, Treasurer Riley Egan, Senior Coach Ryan Egan, and all our Junior Coaches. We are also incredibly grateful to all Team Managers, Scorers, Umpires, Canteen Volunteers, Committee Members, and all other volunteers who contribute tirelessly.
A special thank you to Greg Nankervis, Damon Victory, Shane Boyce, Ashlee Davidson, Alison Starick, and David and Belinda Avery for their invaluable help. Finally, thank you to all our members for your participation and support. We look forward to the 2025/26 season!

2024/25 Club Report
After a 2023/24 season which didn’t meet expectations, with some internal issues with a small group of players who decided to leave at the season's end, the club looked towards season 2024/25 with both some hesitancy but also with some excitement as an opportunity for a ‘fresh start’. The remaining group of senior players were all keen to see the ‘feeling’ within the playing group get back to focusing on having fun playing cricket.
With a strong win in round 1 against Morphettville Park, the spark of excitement took flame, resulting in every player playing great cricket across the season. Whilst there were some losses along the way, the overall feeling remained positive throughout, and even though a close loss in the final round meant finishing 3rd instead of the hoped for 2nd, the club felt very positive going into finals.
A captains knock by Simon Krieg, and a great bowling spell by new player Lucas Wells led the way to a great semi-final win over Country Club, to earn a spot in the Grand Final against Southern. A simply superb 145 from veteran Cam Moore, and a triple bowling attack from Simon, Cam and Matt Polkinghorne helped the team win the section 3 premiership. The icing on the cake was Khaine Pauly’s catch to win the game. 15 regular players were involved across the season, with every one of them contributing to the season’s outcome. Whilst it is fair to say the club is in a rebuilding phase with the senior program, the feeling is very positive and our players are back to enjoying playing cricket again.
The junior program continues to be a highlight for the club. with a total of 63 junior players and another 12 Blasters for the season. The next challenge will be to add an under 16 team, with the introduction of the grade to the Western Suburbs competition. It is hoped the program will continue to improve and grow, but it will need more support from parents to help the club achieve its goals.
The club and committee thank our volunteers, from our senior group but also across our juniors, and our sponsors for their continual support to our cricket club; Cash Converters Clovelly Park, IGA Novar Gardens, The Highway Hotel, MM Electrical Edwardstown, RAMS Seafood, SportsPower & ProSport, Ochre Digital, X-Golf Marion, and Total Workwear Marleston. Thanks also to the Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association, and the committee led by Phil Davis, for all of their work to put together the cricket season.
Matthew Polkinghorne President,
Phantoms Cricket

2024/25 Club Report
A Grade (Section 1)
Nick Webster took lead of the A grade again. Despite only winning 2 games they competed hard and found themselves regularly in winnable positions.
With expected improvement in the juniors and new players, the club expects the boys to be very competitive in section 2 next year and push for a prompt return to section 1.
Best with the bat was Jack Bonutto and Jake McCann with 301 runs.
Best with the ball was Saket Singh with 25 wickets followed by Taylan Ryan with 23.
B Grade (Section 5)
Adrian Foote took charge of the youthful B grade team and they contested as best they could despite often being out of their depth. The kids were given many opportunities and some large improvement was seen over the season.
Best with the bat was Adrian Foote with 436 runs followed by Oliver Martin with 323.
Best with the ball was Oliver Martin with 13 wickets followed by his father Dion Martin with 8.
C Grade (Section 9)
Rob Wilde took the reins of the enthusiastic C grade team and led them all the way to grand final victory!
Best with the bat was Rob Wilde with 341 runs followed by Caleb Tregenza with 283.
Best with the ball was also Rob Wilde and Caleb Tregenza with 12 wickets.
On grand final day they capped off a great season by rolling Adelaide Lutheran for 107 runs and then passing the score 2 wickets down.
Sponsors
We are very appreciative to have had the support of these sponsors throughout the year: Tredwell Management, Netbuilt, Richardson Facilities Maintenance, Bray St Coffee Roasters, Stagg Fine Foods, The Oyster Bar & The Hwy Hotel.
We wish everyone the best of luck for the upcoming season!

2024/25 Club Report
The 24/25 season saw us field 4 senior sides. We saw many strong individual performances and solid team efforts across all grades.
Our A, B and C Grade all made it into finals but unfortunately were unable to go beyond the first week of finals.
Our T20 side had a successful campaign taking out the Div 2 T20 premiership.
As the club looks ahead to 2025/26 there is plenty to build on - solid foundations, promising young talent and a culture of hard work and achievements across our 4 senior sides.

2024/25 Club Report
In season 2024/25, the St John’s Old Scholars Cricket Club played in the Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association (ASCA) and fielded one team in Section 2 of the Saturday competition as well as one team in Division 2 of the T20 competition. We were unlucky not to make finals in Section 2, falling just one win short. In Section 2, we had 7 wins and 7 losses, and in Division 2 T20 we had 2 wins and 2 losses, giving us a 50% win-rate overall for the season. This is an improvement from season 2023/24 where we had 5 wins, 6 losses, and 3 draws at a 36% win-rate.
There were several highlights for our club throughout the season. One of which was in Round 7, where we played Mitchell Park at home. Mitchell Park batted first against us and put on 7/210 off their 40 overs. With two early ducks in our run chase, we had our work cut out for us. Phil Scott and I got us off to a good start with a 101-run partnership for the third wicket, but we both got out with 100 runs still to chase. Our usual opener Sam Francis had a broken finger and wasn’t meant to bat. But in a split-second decision, we lost another wicket, so he threw the pads on and suddenly he was walking out to bat. To have someone as good as Sam walking out at 7 was a game changer, and he reverse-swept and ramped his way to a quick fire 45. Mitch Russell came out after Sam, and he and Angus Keates needed 34 runs off not many balls. However, it didn’t matter for Mitch, as he blasted 3 fours and 2 big sixes to get us over the line in what was a very tight run chase against the top side at the time.
Another highlight for our season was in Round 11, where we played Happy Valley at home. We bowled first and bowled them out for 145, which we were very happy with, as they were second on the ladder at the time. We lost a couple early wickets late on day 1, and the wickets kept falling on day 2. It got to 7/116 and it seemed like we were going to fall short of the target. With our in-experienced number 8 and 9 at the crease and number 10 and 11 in the sheds, and 30 runs still to win, hopes were not high. Alex Markham got out with 18 runs to win, and then Michael Porter got out with 10 runs to win, leaving Liam Markham and Ed Angley at the crease with no wickets left. It was the toughest 10 runs we’ve all ever had to watch, but after multiple mix-ups, catching opportunities, and edges through the slips, we got over the line in a very tight finish.
There were several impressive individual performances from our players this season. There were 8 half-centuries and 2 centuries scored. Phil Scott had the highest individual score for the season with 128 against Coromandel II in Round 9. Ten 5-wicket halls were taken this season. The best figures were taken by Patrick Douglas, with 8/47 off 21.1 overs in Round 13 against Mitchell Park – this broke the record for best figures in club history. There were four 100+ run partnerships for the season, with the highest going to Angus Keates and I with a 3rd-wicket partnership of 139 against Coromandel Ramblers II in Round 6. All these achievements contributed towards a big improvement from the previous season. In season 2023/24, there were 7 half-centuries, 1 century, two 5-wicket hauls, and one 100+ run partnership. This shows that our team is adapting to Section 2 and our players are continuing to improve each season.
On Saturday the 26th of April, the St John’s Old Scholars Cricket Club had our presentation night for the 2024/25 season at the Belair Hotel. It was a great night that allowed us to wrap up another successful season, hand out plenty of awards, and enjoy some food and drinks together. Our award winners consisted of:
Century Awards: Phil Scott, Chris Francis
5 Wicket Haul Awards: Angus Keates x3, Sam Tonkin x2, Patrick Douglas x2, Mitch Russell, Chris Francis, Alex Markham
Fielding Award: Phil Scott & Patrick Douglas
Batting Award: Chris Francis
Bowling Award: Angus Keates
Duck Award: Tate Steele
Johncock Clubman Award: Patrick Douglas
The 2024/25 season was a big success for the St John’s Old Scholars Cricket Club. We had plenty of fun and created many memories together, which is ultimately our main goal. Hopefully next season we can push to make finals and work towards another club premiership. I would like to thank our sponsors for their extremely generous support this season: Churchill Pallets, the Belair Hotel, RJ Media, and DC Signs. I would also like to thank ASCA President Phil Davis and the rest of the ASCA executive for their hard work behind the scenes. We are excited to see what the 2025/26 season has in store for our club.

2024/25 Club Report
What a fantastic season it has been for the Sheidow Park Cricket Club! The 2024-25 season kicked off with a bang, featuring five senior teams, seven if you count our T20 squads, and a whopping nine junior squads, including two girls' teams, an Under 14 T20, and a combined Under 16 team with Flagstaff Hill. It’s heartening to see all the hard work across both our Senior and Junior programs paying off, even if we did have to drop our E-grade squad due to availability—sometimes, you just can’t have it all!
A big thank you to the Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association, as well as the South-Central Junior Cricket Association, for running their competitions at such a high standard. Your efforts make our games enjoyable and competitive.
This year, we extended our oval usage with a three-year contract with Marion Council, which now includes the lower oval at the Cove Sporting Complex. This expansion allows us to keep our teams embedded in the community while playing, and let me tell you, our future is looking brighter than a ‘Chappy’ freshly polished cricket ball!
Throughout the year, our juniors shone brightly at association carnivals. Special shoutouts to Jacques-Louis Lowies, who was named in the Under 16 Team of the Year, Blake Noble for his spot in the Under 14 Team of the Year, and Ollie Foster in the Under 12s. A huge round of applause for Braam Lowies, who coached the Under 16s team to an undefeated carnival—his efforts even earned him a finalist spot in the SACA Awards as Junior Coach Highly Commended. Talk about a trophy cabinet upgrade!
Our girls' program also received fantastic recognition through the 'Power of Her' initiative, being named a finalist in this statewide award. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this program a success!
On the senior front, we had Blake Harding and Jacob Linsenmeier representing the club at the Open Level, while Jacssen Fisher made waves in the Under 21 division. Well done, lads!
On the field, all squads—junior and senior—performed admirably and upheld the values we cherish as a club. Across the seniors, we’re in the running for a couple of Spirit of Cricket awards. The A-grade team exceeded expectations given the youth of some players, however, they gelled very well. Whilst the C-grade squad fought valiantly but just missed out on finals. The D-grade team, under Dan’s guidance, toiled away to secure a couple of wins and a well-deserved tie.
The B-grade, led by Keith Clements, had a solid season, finishing as minor premiers. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned in the semi-final, but every player should be proud of their performance.
Looking ahead, I can’t wait to see all our juniors and seniors back at the Pit for the new season!
A special shoutout to our Under 14 T20 squad, who struck gold with a Premiership against Coromandel. Well done to all players, especially Coach Braam Lowies, Assistant Coach Andrew Noble, and Captain Neil Lowies. You were sensational as a team throughout the competition!
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our overarching senior committee for their tireless efforts this year. Without your dedication and drive, we wouldn’t have achieved such success. A big thank you to the Junior Committee as well—your program is receiving the recognition it deserves for all the hours of hard work you’ve put in. And to all the sub-committees across the club, your contributions help lighten the load for everyone, and more hands will continue to drive ownership of our values.
To our Captains, coaches, assistants, Woolworths Blast director (JJ), senior players assisting with junior programs, and all the parents and volunteers—your help throughout the year is greatly appreciated!
We celebrated some extra special milestones this year, with Ben Cameron becoming the first player to reach 250 games and Keith Clements hitting a fantastic 200 games. Well done to both of you!
To our sponsors, we couldn’t exist without your valued support, and we look forward to continuing our relationship in the 2025-26 season.
Congratulations to all individual award winners across the club—your dedication to training and game day has not gone unnoticed!
I would be remiss not to mention Craig Edwards, who was recognised by Amanda Rishworth as Community Volunteer of the Year for his years of dedication to the club, both on and off the field as Secretary. Brilliant recognition, Fids!
Financially, we are in a solid position, thanks to individuals driving sponsorship opportunities and grant applications. Thank you to all involved!
Justy led from the front with the support of his Events team. Great effort, with a little help from Kailah!
In closing, I want to say well done to everyone involved with our club on another successful year. I look forward to seeing you all again in the 2025-26 season.
Kind regards,
Garry Harding

2024/25 Club Report
South Park Cricket Club had a very successful season reaching the finals of the Section 6. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the eventual champions Morphett Vale Cricket Club. They have played really well throughout this season and are deserving winners. The final was played in very good spirits among both teams. We would also want to thank and congratulate all the other teams that played in our section.
We were led by our captain Wajahat Saeed for most of the games this season. He however had an injury to his finger/palm and Arsalan Mustafa, our vice captain stepped in to lead in his absence. Congratulations to both Wajahat Saeed and Arsalan Mustafa and all our team members for another successful season.
Before the start of the season we had lost some of our key players, who had preferred to switch to another club or preferred to play in turf wickets and some of them becoming part-time cricketers. So this season was kind of a rebuilding phase for us. We would sincerely want to thank Phil Davis and the committee members at ASCA for allowing South Park to continue playing at Section 6 for the season. We did have some of our core members continue and we have had some exciting new additions, who we hope will stay with us for the upcoming season and future.
There were contributions from all members of the team throughout the season. However, we would like to highlight and single out the performance of Raydon D'Souza who scored 893 runs this season that included 4 hundreds and 5 fifties. He has won the Association award for the best batsman in addition to our club's Robert Fergusson Batting Trophy. There was a total of 5 hundreds scored by our batsmen during the course of the season.
Our bowling department was led by Danish Rasheed who ended up with 19 wickets at an average of 15.33 and we had just one bowler take a 5 wicket haul during the course of the season.
South Park would like to thank all our players and committee members for their dedication and hard work put into improving the position of the club both on and off the field.
We have already started our preparations for the next season led by our club president Vinod Vaithiyanathan. We eagerly look forward to season 2025-26 with a great sense of optimism that we can further strengthen the position of the club for the future.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Goodwood Hotel and AX Sports for their sponsorship this season and we are also exploring other potential sponsorship opportunities for our club.
The trophy winners for season 2024-25 are:
Cricketer of the Year Award: Wajahat Saeed - 562 Runs, 15 Wickets, 4 Catches and 1 Run out
Robert Ferguson Batting Award: Raydon D'Souza - 893 Runs
Paul Askew Bowling Award: Danish Rasheed - 19 Wickets
Fielding Award: Vinod Vaithiyanathan – 9 catches
Captains Award: Asad Ullah
Kevin Spencer Club Man Award: Vinod Vaithiyanathan and Ashwin Srikanth
Congratulations to the trophy winners and we look forward to the challenges that lie ahead in another exciting season ahead.

2024/25 Club Report
Southern Cricket Club had a great year as a group.
Our social events were a huge success due mainly to the efforts of the senior committee members.
The focus was on making an inclusive family atmosphere & we feel that was achieved.
We fielded two teams, in section 3 and section 8.
The teams faired rather differently.
Section 3
Jonny James made his debut as captain.
The team didn't really hit its straps till after Christmas, finding form & unity.
The team ended the season in 4th & then beat Sheidow Park at Sheidow Park in the semi to book a spot in the grand final.
Ultimately falling to the Phantoms in the grand final we had a number of players who had good seasons.
C. Sampson 358 runs @ 35.80 and the association keeping trophy
T. Bennett 333 runs and A grade fielding trophy
D. Souter 19 wickets
B. Chapple 16 wickets
J. James 14 wickets
Section 8
It's fair to say our B grade had a disrupted start to the season, from memory only playing 2 or 3 games before Christmas.
The captain was away so the role was filled by co captains S. Thiele & S. Reid.
They were able to get the team gelling after Christmas taking a few games down to the wire.
Lots to build on next season!
M. Baig 325 runs
K. Daskalos 157 runs
M. Ali 12 wickets
S. Thiele 10 wickets
Thanks to our club committee for all of their input & efforts to make our small club great.
Last but not least thanks to the executive committee for their constant work in making this a great association for all.

A GRADE REPORT
Section 5: 7 Wins, 6 Losses
The A's had a fairly good season winning 7 out of 14 games, missed Semi Final qualification by a hair. The Team was captained by Raheel Raghib.
Whilst the team was really disappointed for missing out Semifinals by the narrowest of margins, the entire season was played in a great spirit and players were continually supporting each other not only on the field but also off the field. This had created a great atmosphere within the Team who had loved turning up to the ground every week.
Vikas from Section 5 again won the association wicket keeping trophy. Parth Sharma recorded club's highest individual score this season by scoring a match winning 162* runs. He scored another ton against the table toppers Kenilworth which gave us the hope of a Semifinal berth.
We had two bowlers who took 5 or more wickets in an innings and plenty of potential to go couple of extra steps and make it to the finals next season.
B GRADE REPORT
Section 6: 5 Wins, 8 Losses
The B's had started the season really good winning first 3 games however dented due to players unavailability. B's won 5 out of 14 games failed to make semi finals this season. The team captained by Sam Varkey for the first time who took most wickets a total tally of 31 and Gurpreet highest with the bat scoring 429 runs for the season. Siddharth contributed immensely with both bat and ball scoring 323 runs and with the ball he took 30 wickets. Sam did well with the limited resources he had and also with the new players who were trying to get their feet into this game.
C GRADE REPORT
Section 7: 9 Wins, 5 Losses 2 No result
The C's had a great year. Though we had 5 losses during the season our section 7 won the game which had mattered the most, the Grand Finals. C's entered Grand Finals by chasing a total of 133 in semi-finals against the top of the table team Afghans. We were captained by Devendar Rawat which is his first premiership trophy for the club as a captain and second overall. Well done Devendar and his Team. Absolute proud moment for the club.
The Team though did not have big individual contributions with the bat however every player had chipped in with bat and bowl when it mattered the most.
Congratulations to all who had made debut for Southern Warriors this season. The year as every year was challenging, especially with the players juggling between family, work commitments and the games. Thanks to all who had played for our club and gave it their all every week.

2024/25 Club Report
For our ageing club to add a new team for the 24/25 season came as a surprise to many and we can thank Simon Thilthorpe, who was always confident that he could secure the numbers to make it a go-er. Great stuff Simon - for that you can have the President’s Trophy! And it was pleasing to come together as a whole group a couple of times, especially at the ‘Magarey Medal’ night. The biryani prepared by the partner of one of our A grade boys was awesome and J Conroy didn’t burn any sausages that night at all.
The season began with most of the new players in Section 7 and the old blokes (and Tyson) in section 8. Speaking of which, it has been great to see Tyson’s development as a leader and now captain of the Bs. I’m sure he really enjoys hearing from the 7 blokes at the end of each over who have a fielding move to suggest!#@?*
I think the most noteworthy aspect of our collective on-field performance was the improvement of our As and the excellent batting by Gowda. Many of the A grade players had only played limited over cricket before so settling in for 60 overs was a new deal. I predict that their graph of improvement will continue to track impressively.
The Bs had a bit of a hard luck story, being knocked out of the finals in the final game of the minor round by Morphett Vale who needed, and achieved, a massive win. So a three–peat wasn’t to be. Nevertheless, it was a successful and enjoyable season with many fine performances.
Congratulations to our COTY winner, Tyson Craigie, who amassed 1008 points. Big things still to come there. Likewise congratulations to Gowda in the As who hit 560 runs @ 56 – with 2 tons. Well done to all trophy winners for on and off the field efforts. Continuing with the back-patting, congratulations to those who topped their section / ASCA achievements: Gowda – Section 7 batting trophy and Grant Craigie – Section 8 keeping trophy.
In recent years we have said goodbye to several of our dear friends and it was with a sense of shock and deep sadness that we learned of the passing of life member, Tracy Tozer on 15 March this year. It’s hard to write these words right now. Tracy was a stalwart of the club, secretary for more than 10 years and someone who knew what service is all about. At the ASCA meeting on 18 March, the Chair spoke about Tracy and all those present stood in her honour. Our love and thoughts remain with Tyson and Maddie, and others who were a part of Tracy’s life now and in the past.
We also celebrated the life of Brian ‘Boof’ Conroy – never played with Boof but his stats for 6s / boundaries as a % of score and his catching are unreal. Smithy has the full story on another page. Condolences to the Conroy clan and all the blokes who had the pleasure of playing with and learning from Boof.
Some of the old boys are beginning to slow down so I’m not really sure what is in store for the 25/26 season. And btw, I mean really slow down. The Section 7 boys seem really keen and who knows, there may be another influx of players? Thanks to the WCC family who keep an eye on social media and call in to watch every now and then – we love seeing you and catching up for a frothy.
It seems a bit routine but thanks to the backbone of the club – the team captains, the committee, Dom for your work as treasurer (and perhaps more importantly, keeping the shed fridge stocked), Grant for your outstanding secretarial work, Shoe for the incomparable year book. Timmy for the many things you do around the place, McAuley School for the home ground and BLC for access to Rev’s Shed.
See you next year.
Noel

2024/25 Club Report
We come to end of another season and in my view we have achieved a lot on and off the field as we continue to try and build our club back to where our committee believes we should be. This is achieved by a lot of work from the current committee, which is not always seen from those around or outside the club.
Starting with our fledgling Junior Program which is run by Neville Linkie. Neville has been overseeing our Program for the last two seasons. In this time it has grown from an Under 12’s side that started with around 6 kids to this season having at times around 15 kids wanting to play. And our Junior Bash Program which has had great numbers also. The success of the Juniors to date is a testament to the efforts of Neville and his team. Matthew Grindley has been running the Bash Program and Ethan Brown running the Under 12 team. Matty & Ethan have done a wonderful job running trainings and getting kids back playing for Western Youth. A big thanks also to the Parents that have helped out at trainings and on game day, it makes a big difference and is greatly appreciated by the Club. Everyone involved should be very proud of the achievements to date and I look forward to seeing the continued progress in the future.
Matthew King has done a tremendous job over the last few seasons, carrying the roles of A Grade Captain, Sponsorship and Social Organiser and Senior Cricket Director. This has been a major time consuming contribution from Kingy and he has poured his heart and soul into all these roles. This is because King truly loves our Club and has had a strong desire to get our Club back to where we all believe it should be. Kingy’s work with the Sponsorship Role has been amazing and our Club is in a lot stronger financial position because of his efforts.
Callum Wright, our Secretary who has also taken on the role of Treasurer this season has also made an immense contribution to our Club since his return a few seasons ago. From updating and creating our Club Policies to making sure our accounts are up to date and everything that is required to get players on the park to play cricket.
Matthew and Callum both received the Lions Club of Richmond Award for their outstanding efforts for our Club. As mentioned above, they have both contributed greatly to our Club and were deserving of the recognition. Both of you have made significant contributions and set high standards in your multiple roles. Congratulations to you both on your recognition, we are all very proud and grateful for all that you do for our Club.
All these gentlemen mentioned above have made outstanding contributions to our Club and continue to work for the betterment of our Club, selflessly and tirelessly.
Our Captains this season have continued the success on the field this season. Although both our A & B Grade sides were defeated in the Semi Finals and the C Grade finished 6th, all three sides were promoted up the grades from last season, the C Grade by two grades. For the A & B Grade teams to make finals again is a great effort and both Captains, Kingy & Harry Singh should be proud of their efforts this season.
Harry also Captained the T20 side this year after last year’s fantastic DIV 2 win. The team had some good early wins but was unable to match it with the top sides of DIV 1. Still a great effort and well done Harry organising the team each week.
To all our players over the past season, thank you for your efforts. We may be a small Club, but we are a proud Club and we need to all work together to achieve the success we crave. At times, we shall make mistakes and things might not go as planned, but we get back up when we are down and fight on to achieve our goals.
Allan Stenson this season achieved something only three other players have achieved at our club, playing his 300th Club game. This is an outstanding effort Al and that you are still able to play and contribute in the A & B Grade teams is a testament to your commitment to the Club.
We welcomed back two great people to our Club this year, Kristy and Robbie Wells. Since their return they have come on board our Committee and both contributed greatly to the B Grade side. It’s wonderful to have you both back at the Club and we look forward to having you both around for many seasons to come.
We are very happy to announce two new Life Memberships to two great players. Peter Andreopoulos who has been at the Club since the 1990’s and continues to ply his trade in the C Grade. Peter, affectedly known as Chicken Man from his days running the Cowandilla Chicken Shop, where he was a long time sponsor of our Junior sides. Callum Wright who is one of the last few players that came through our Junior system and returned to our Club a few seasons ago when we were really struggling and has been a major contributor since his return.
Both of you have been at the Club over many years and are both are deserved of your Life Memberships, congratulations.
